Winter Essentials

'Tis the season for layering, my friends! Among other wonderful winter things. Here are some pieces that I think are absolute must-haves to survive the season that are guaranteed to fix any winter blues you may have. Be sure and read all the way to the end for another sweet (cookie) surprise :)

All of these pieces can be mixed and matched pretty easily, but here are a few ideas to get you started.

And as promised, my family's famous ginger snap recipe (our family dog's absolute favorite cookie).

Ingredients:
3 cups flour
3 tsp baking soda
3 tsp ground ginger
1/2 tsp cinnamon
1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1/2 cup molasses

Directions:
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees
2. Stir flour, soda, ginger, and cinnamon together in a bowl.
3. Cream butter, add sugar, molasses, and egg.
4. Add dry ingredients from step 1 to mix in step 2.
5. Roll dough into balls then roll around dough in a bowl of sugar.
6. Bake on ungreased cookie sheet for 10-12 mins (or until a little crackly on top).
7. Don't eat the entire tray in one sitting, which is what my dog did on numerous occasions.
