About
Hi there! My name is Annie. I was born and raised in Indiana and I LOVE the Midwest. I have always loved clothing, design, and fashion (I would often change my outfit 3-5 times a day growing up. And sometimes now too haha) so starting a fashion blog was something I always wanted to do (well, as long as blogs have been around...) and now I've finally done it! I've been blogging since October of 2013 and it has been SO much fun.
I graduated from high school in 2012 and went to Brigham Young University for a year and studied Vocal Performance. I was dating a wonderful guy back home but long-distance was rough. He tried to find a job out in Utah, but it didn't work out so I transferred back home to attend Purdue University where I studied Public Relations & Advertising (Purdue doesn't have a music program, sads). My husband and I got married in May of 2013 and I have been on Cloud 9 ever since. You can read more about our story here and check out photos from our wedding here.
I work for a biotech company that does cancer research, but in my spare time I also blog, sing, dance, bake, exercise, shop, play with my pets, hang out with my family/friends, do local plays/musicals, and watch cat videos on the internet. I get a lot of joy from cleaning my house and I hate mess/clutter (even though I don't always have time to clean it up). I play the cello and sing so needless to say I love music. Operas, Broadway, Beyonce, I love it all. Favorite TV shows include Gilmore Girls, Frasier, The West Wing, The Mindy Project, and Boy Meets World. Pretty much the only reason I go to the gym is so I can watch trashy reality television and not feel good about the copious amounts of dessert I eat. Disney World is probably one of my favorite vacation spots (Italy, London, Paris, & Switzerland are pretty great too).
I started my blog to show women that you can be fashionable and well-dressed without having to spend a ton of money. I'm a normal girl who leads a normal life and wears normal clothes. I try to wear things that other women in all walks of life can pull off and look great in. I also try to keep it as real as possible on my blog. I don't believe in altering my face/body in my photos and I don't believe in being superficial. I hope that you'll be able to see my real personality throughout my blog both in what I write and what I wear.
Some other things to know:
I looooove Indian food. And guacamole. I hate pizza.
I can be kinda nerdy. I love science podcasts like Radiolab and Freakonomics. I really like NPR. And politics. And Art History.
Dessert is always a good idea.
My parents have a kitty named Mr. Bingley and a German Shorthaired Pointer named Eiger. I spend a lot of time with them since they live 90 seconds away from my house so they're basically my pets too. I loooove when I get to cat/puppysit. They make frequent appearances on my Snapchat.
I love to help people! So if you ever need help putting together outfits, building/cleaning out your wardrobe, finding a specific piece, etc. shoot me an email and I'll be more than happy to assist! If you have other questions about me, see my FAQ page. If you have a different question that you can't find an answer to, go ahead and email me!
