Summer Clothes in the Fall (& a Surprise)

Today at church, I had to play the cello during our service. This required me to take a long look at my closet and figure out what dressy skirt or dress I could wear and still be able to play. This was no easy feat. I ended up deciding to take one of my favorite summer staples (the maxi dress) and make it fall-appropriate. The dress I chose is a not-too-summery navy so I was able to pair it easily with a gray cardigan, fun scarf, flats, and skinny belt to tie it all together.

If you don't have a skinny belt in your closet, I highly suggest investing in one. It should be a staple in everyone's wardrobe and you'll surprise yourself with how much you'll wear it. H&M and Target both carry fairly inexpensive skinny belts. As opposed to J.Crew.

As an added bonus for today, I'm including a recipe!

Friends, I'd like to introduce you to the easiest cookies you will EVER bake. They may just look like balls of uncooked dough, but they are delicious. And so simple. All it takes is 3 ingredients and there is absolutely NO measuring required. I know it's hard to believe, but trust me on this one.

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F.
2. Take one box of spice cake mix (or carrot cake mix, they're essentially the same), one 15 oz can of pumpkin, and one 12 oz. bag of chocolate chips.
3. Dump all ingredients in bowl.
4. Stir it up.
5. Put tsp sized dollops of dough on cookie sheet and bake for 17-20 mins depending on the size you made them.
6. Try to not to eat all of them at once.

The other great thing about this recipe is that it yields up to 4 dozen so they're perfect for a last-minute Halloween party treat. Take two dozen to the party, keep the other two for yourself. Or just keep them all to yourself.
