Adventures in Chicago i.e. Me Geeking Out

So I thought that during my Spring Break, I would have loads & loads of time to blog, clean, cook, nap, watch tv, etc. False. I ended up being super busy this past week with physical therapy, errands, working, and about a thousand other things that came up. Anyway so I apologize for making you all wait so long (a whole 4 days!) for another post. But I'll make it up to all of you, I promise.

As many of you know, my mom & I went to Chicago this past Wednesday. And it was wonderful. I heard there was a Disney exhibit at the Museum of Science & Industry so OBVIIIIII I had to go. Especially since my requests to go to Disney World this week were shot down numerous times (someday I will succeed). So this exhibit was the next best thing. I took about a gazillion photos. Because I'm a total Disney dork. And I'm ok with that.

My heart basically stopped beating.

The original top the Snow White model wore when they were animating the movie!

The actual book used in the opening of the movie.

Sorry I'm the coolest person I know.

Walt's actual desk!

Julie Andrew's hand ACTUALLY TOUCHED that bag!

So this is an ongoing project to build a giant lego version of Cinderella's castle. It's insane.

HOCUS POCUS!

CAPTAIN JACK SPARROW!

THAT ONE PRINCE'S OUTFIT FROM ENCHANTED WHO I CAN'T REMEMBER THE NAME OF BUT JAMES MARSDEN WORE THIS!

MORE ENCHANTED!

CRUELLA DEVILLE

THE TIARAS WORN IN PRINCESS DIARIES 1 & 2!!!!! These were my favorite.

Then we learned how to draw Mickey Mouse. Disney will probably hire me now.

Corbin Bleu's basketball uniform from HSM.

Illegal picture of a picture I took. I was only mildly chastised.

And then we went chair shopping at Roche Bobois! The design part of me was freaking out.

This place is amazing.

Everything was so pretty.

Burberry pattern on the Burberry store. So clever.

My yummy yummy salad from Grand Lux Cafe.

I love a good veggie burger with guac.

EATALY!! So glad I finally made it there.

The famous Nutella bar :)

They sold Nutella by the bucket. I'm not kidding.

My Nutella muffin that actually was kind of awful. If you ever go, get the Nutella crepe.

What I wore to the opera. I'm obsessed with this pink coat.

LYRIC OPERA!! And this was where the Opera geek part of me freaked out.

See that iridescent green smear on the left? That's Renee Flemming. And behind her is Jonas Kaufmann. They were freaking amazing. I had goosebumps and tears throughout the whole concert. It has always been a dream of mine to hear Renee sing live and it was incredible. Jonas is going to be a bonafide opera superstar, mark my words. He's the next Pavarotti.

Mom: "Let's take a selfie!!"

What are your favorite things to do & see in Chicago? I'm always looking for more to do there!

Excited That: I'm getting my hair cut tonight by my friend!
Not Excited That: Spring Break is almost over :(
Looking Forward To: Date Night with Husband :)
Sick With: A cold. Ew.
Happy That: IT'S WARM AND THE SUN IS OUT!!!!
Days Until Christmas: 278
